It was a very informative session. Looking the career journeys of the 4 very successful UAB employees was inspirational and introduced me to the tools necessary for success in an entity like UAB. However, it also highlighted the stak differences between career growth opportunities between administrative and research staff employees. There are no research staff ( non faculty and non clinical) who can aspire to reach the career heights that the 4 panelists reached merely because there are no senior positions which require the skill sets possessed by research staff.
