SAAD understands and is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities of abiding by UAB School of Medicine (UABSOM) policies. SAAD has been established for the purpose of providing support for medical students with mental health issues including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety, and depression, regardless of an official diagnosis, through informal discussion in a monthly support group format. This group aims to provide a safe, judgement-free, and confidential space led by medical students for medical students to share their challenges, learn advice on how to manage things, and be encouraged by the power of shared experiences.
