War of The Roses is Pi Kappa Phi's annual philanthropy week dedicated to our philanthropy, The Ability Experience. Pi Kappa Phi is the only Greek letter organization that has created and owns their own philanthropy. The Ability Experience is a an organization that aims to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities through fundraising, volunteerism, and awareness. Pi Kapps engage not only in philanthropy, but real one-to-one interactions with people with disabilities.

We have an even bigger goal this year, as we are also fundraising for our brother Aakash Sunkari, as he aims to raise $7,500 for his individual Journey of Hope trip. Aakash will be dedicating his time to serving others on a cycling event across the United States called Journey of Hope. He will meet with organizations that support people with disabilities along the way. Not only does this help fundraise more than half a million dollars for The Ability Experience through this event alone, they also hope to also make an impact on the lives of individuals along the way through shared experiences. Journey of Hope teams cycle a combined 12,000 miles starting on the west coast of the United States and ending at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

Please come out and help support our mission this week! If you have any questions, please email philanthropy chair Aakash Sunkari at asunkari@uab.edu or president Joshua Domingue at domingue@uab.edu
