Environmental and Behavioral Influences on Circadian Rhythm and Eye Growth
To examine the role of environmental exposures and behaviors in myopia, we have carried out a series of experiments investigating associations between light exposure, circadian rhythm, and refractive status, Here, I will discuss ocular and system diurnal rhythms in children, and links between light exposure and the intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells. Additionally, I will present preliminar results validating newly developed objective range finding instruments to quantify near work and to demonstrate their utility in continuous, objective measurement of working distance.
