The UAB Part-Time Job Fair is a career event for any UAB Students and alumni seeking part-time employment opportunities. This is an opportunity for you to present yourself professionally in-person to a potential employer. The keys to a successful job fair experience are preparation and follow-up.
Here is a checklist to help you get prepared:
- Sign up for 1:1 and/or meetings with local part-time employers.
- Get your resume reviewed (virtual walk in hours Monday - Friday from 9:0am - 4:00pm)
- Prepare your 30-second elevator pitch
- Make sure you present yourself appropriately. If you need to rent professional attire free of charge, be sure to utilize the Career Closet in Hill Student Center room 307 during office hours.
- Don't forget to follow up with thank-you messages to those with whom you meet!
