Join UAB Arts in Medicine to explore storytelling and writing as tools for connection, reflection, and well-being among caregivers, health professionals, and those who support others. Salaam Green, Artist in Residence at The Threshold Center and Birmingham’s Inaugural Poet Laureate (2024–2025), will discuss Story Share, a community storytelling initiative that highlights the often unseen experiences of caregivers. Joining her is Dr. Nichole Lariscy, Associate Professor of English, UAB, whose teaching, writing, and community-engaged scholarship focuses on Writing for Healing and Bibliotherapy. Together, they will explore how expressive writing for healing and shared stories can foster meaning, empathy, and connection.

As a public institution of higher education, UAB adheres to principles of Free Speech, Civil Discourse and Institutional Neutrality.
