About this Event
This fall, show your support of UAB student scholarships by registering to take part in the virtual Uncork Education, An Evening of Jazz with Eric Essix from the Alys Stephens Center, at 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
Enjoy music from jazz legend Eric Essix, wine, beer, and even food. Check out the levels of support below to determine which fits best for you. All packages will be available to be picked up at the UAB Alumni House (1301 10th Avenue South) between 3:00-5:00 on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Pick-up for all levels of support (with the exception of Level 1) must be made at this time.
Itinerary
- Thursday, November 5-Saturday, November 7 - Bid on our online silent auction items
- Sunday, November 8, 3:00-5:00 pm - Pick up catered dinner at the Alumni House
- Sunday, November 8, 6:00 pm - Enjoy the virtual concert while eating in the comfort of your home
Entertainment
Eric Essix began his recording career in 1988 and has released more than two dozen albums in hit three decade career. In 2013, Eric became UAB's artist-in-residence. Eric has been inducted into the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame and was named Best Jazz Musician by Birmingham magazine.
Online Silent Auction
Our online silent auction will open Thursday, November 5. Registered guests will be able to view the auction items before the auction opens. Registered guests will be emailed information on how to access the online auction in mid-October.
2020 Uncork Education packages:
- Level 1: $10 - Access to music
- Level 2: $25 - Access to music, and 2 wine and/or beer glasses
- Level 3: $75 - Access to music, 2 wine and/or beer glasses, and a bottle of wine or a flight of beer
- Level 4: $125 - Access to music, 2 wine and/or beer glasses, a bottle of wine or a flight of beer, and dinner for 2
- Level 5: $250 - Access to music, 4 wine and/or beer glasses, 2 bottles of wine or 2 flights of beer, and dinner for 4
- Level 6: $500 - Access to music, 6 wine and/or beer glasses, 3 bottles of wine or 3 flights of beer, and dinner for 6
When registering, you will be able to select your glasses, wine or beer, and type of wine (red or white).
Catered Menu Selection
The National Alumni Society has partnered with Corretti Catering to provide the dinner selection. Guests have the option of a chicken dish or vegetarian option.
