UAB Libraries: “Ugh, that source is so biased!” Critically Analyzing and Evaluating Media for Media Bias
Wednesday, November 3, 2021 10am to 11am
About this Event
Presented by Brooke Becker. “Fake news!” “Ugh, that source is so biased.” “I was today years old when I learned about X on TikTok!” Critically analyzing and evaluating media is an ever-increasing struggle we all face, but UAB Libraries has some answers for you! Join Brooke Becker, Associate Professor and Social Sciences Librarian, as she discusses ways we can help ourselves and our students navigate the information landscape. Brainstorm ways the UAB Libraries media literacy guide (and free, online games) might be used to enhance your classes and give students the ability to decipher facts from fiction in a media storm!
