The UAB Education Interview Day is a career event for any UAB Students and alums seeking to work in local and national school districts. This is an opportunity for you to present yourself professionally in-person to a potential employer.  The keys to a successful job fair experience are preparation and follow-up. Here is a checklist to help you get prepared!

• Networking with Employers: 8:00 am- 9:00 am
• Interviewing: 9:00 am- 2:00 pm

Here is a checklist to help you get prepared:

• Complete the pre-interview steps at the Education Interview Day website. (Required for each student participant)
• Research the list of participating employers through Handshake.
• Make an appointment to get your resume reviewed here.
  •  Explore resume resources in Handshake.
  • Be sure to bring copies of your resume!
• Prepare your 30-second elevator pitch.
• Make sure you have professional attire! If you need to rent professional attire free of charge, be sure to make an appointment to utilize the Career Closet.
• Don't forget to ask for business cards at the job fair so you can follow up with thank-you notes.

The UAB Career Center is no longer accepting walk-in appointments. If you need to meet with a peer career advisor or need to utilize the career closet, please make an appointment in Handshake. Appointments are available Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
