UAB Campus Watch applies the Neighborhood Watch concept to the campus/medical center. This program encourages the community to take an active role in the prevention of crime in our community and voice any concerns.
Nathaniel Rutledge will be our guest speaker on May 7, 2019, discussing "Campus Vigilance." Rutledge has nearly 29 years in law enforcement serving at Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Fairfield Police Department before being promoted to Police Chief at the City of Bessemer in 2003. Chief Rutledge retired in 2017 after 14 years as Bessemer’s Chief of Police. Rutledge is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session 238. Since 2008, Rutledge has served as the annual keynote speaker for the FBI Southeastern Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar from which he also graduated in 2004.
