The UAB Regions Institute for Financial Education (RIFE) - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides income tax preparation free of charge to those who qualify.
Qualifications:
- Income cannot exceed $69,000 per tax return. If you are over the age of 65 there is no income maximum.
- Valid photo identification
- Social Security card for the taxpayer, their spouse, dependents, if applicable.
