Are you interested in strengthening the voice of the staff across UAB? Do you know a colleague who would make a great representative? Nominations for the 2026–2028 UAB Staff Council will open on March 31 and close on April 14

Who can be nominated? 

Staff members may self-nominate or be nominated by a colleague. Nominees must meet the following qualifications: 

  • Be a UAB staff member with at least 12 consecutive months of employment at the time of nomination 
  • Be in good standing with the University and their department 
  • Have supervisor approval to participate in Staff Council activities 
  • Be prepared to represent all UAB staff in their unit 
  • Be willing to:  
  • Attend monthly meetings (1.5 hours, held on the last Wednesday of each month) 
  • Actively participate in orientation and committee work 

Submit your nomination during the nomination period, March 31–April 14. Voting will take place May 5-12.
