Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie ...they're all staples of a good Thanksgiving dinner. But, do you know the science behind things like tryptophan and how brining the turkey impacts the cooking process and moisture of your bird?

Discover The Science of Thanksgiving as Dr. Lizzy Davis and students in the Dietitian Education Program explain the cooking science that will help you prepare your Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Dr. Davis is a Registered Dietitian with a passion for teaching nutrition. She earned her Ph.D. from the UAB School of Health Professions in 2020, and is an assistant professor and director of the Dietitian Education Program in the UAB Department of Nutrition Sciences.
