Center for Teaching and Learning Presents: Taste of the CTL
A day of exploration with the Center for Teaching and Learning
Come and join us at the CTL and get a taste of the various types of professional and educational development workshops we provide year-round. During this one day intensive you will have the opportunity to complete five different workshops from five different workshop series.
Can't commit to the entire day? No problem! Below is the agenda for our sessions, and we welcome you to attend any specific workshop of interest:
- 9:00 am - 10:00 am Using AI in the Classroom: Effective Prompt Generation
- 10:05 am - 11:40 am Global Awareness: Managing Group Work with Cross-Cultural Savvy
- 11:40 am - 12:00 pm Lunch/Networking Time
- 12:00 pm - 1:20 pm Mental Health Matters: Responding to Students in Distress
- 1:25 pm - 2:35 pm Accessibility: Supporting Students with Non-Apparent Disabilities
- 2:40 pm - 3:50 pm Teaching Effectiveness: How Students Learn
When you register you will be prompted to select which workshops you plan to attend. Please indicate which workshops you plan to attend. You can always change this day of. We will be providing lunch for those planning to attend during the second and third workshop presentation.
Please note: The UAB Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) presents workshops on teaching practice for UAB faculty (including adjunct instructors), Instructors of Record, and teaching staff. Academic advisors and staff who work directly with students are also approved to come to non-teaching focused workshops. This event is not intended for UAB graduate or Postdoctoral Scholars, we invite all graduate and postdoctoral students to attend our workshop series titled: CTL LIFT. This series is specifically designed for graduate students only.
