The 2nd Annual Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASI) Summit
About this Event
The 2nd annual Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries (OASI) Summit is coming up! The SOLACE Foundation was created due to the significant and under addressed issue of severe obstetric lacerations which affect a number of women during childbirth. Research shows that around 6% of birthing women experience these serious injuries, leading to long-term consequences like fecal incontinence, painful sexual intercourse, and traumatic birth memories. Many women report that their symptoms negatively impact their quality of life and ultimately, their decision to have more children. The foundation was established to promote prevention through education, research, and providing comprehensive support to women during their recovery. With the rise of mental health issues and increased risk for women suffering OASI to develop a postpartum mood disorder, this particular summit will emphasize mental health resources. The Summit Webinar serves to provide an educational opportunity to those working in the public health, medical and allied health, or other critical spaces. This online seminar is free to attend and free nursing CEUs will be provided (CEHS pending).
