About this Event
1700 University Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35233
https://www.uab.edu/faculty/ctl/workshops/teaching-writing-seriesPresented for UAB faculty by Jaci Wells. This workshop introduces strategies for providing student writers (focusing on non-native speakers of English) with constructive feedback. Participants will learn how to use writing feedback to encourage revision and provide a bridge to other writing experiences and resources. Recognizing how overwhelmed faculty can feel giving feedback and how overwhelmed students can feel receiving it, the presenter will offer participants strategies for prioritizing suggestions and providing well-focused comments.
Registration is strongly encouraged for in-person attendance so that we can notify participants of any unexpected schedule changes and ensure that we have the correct amount of food if a meal is provided. UAB faculty are always welcome to show up to in-person CTL events without registering. However, if you do attend without registering, we ask that if food is being served, you wait until all pre-registered participants have gotten their food before serving yourself.
