Accessibility Fundamentals: Learning Core Accessibility Principles

Description: Making course content accessible can be difficult without adding hours of manual work or replacing rich, media-based learning with text-only materials.

Join us for an upcoming training where we’ll explore how Harmonize’s AI accessibility features help instructors meet accessibility needs with less manual work. In this session, you’ll learn how to: 

• Save time with autogenerated accessibility supports, including closed captions, transcripts, audio descriptions, and alt text
• Review and edit autogenerated accessibility content so it aligns with your course materials and instructional goals
• Build accessible, media-rich Harmonize Pages that combine text, media, links, polls, and other instructional content
• Support learning beyond accessibility requirements, including searchable transcripts for studying, audio descriptions for students listening on the go, and captions for students reviewing media in noisy or quiet spaces
• Copy transcript text for reuse in course materials, study guides, feedback workflows, or other student supports
• Review student transcripts to save time while grading videos and presentations

Please Note: This workshop is designed for current UAB teaching faculty, instructors of record, academic advisors, and other student-facing staff members. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are invited to attend the CTL LIFT series workshops instead.
