The Lister HIll Center for Health Policy is excited to host Frank Alexander. Alexander is the Sam Nunn Professor of Law at Emory University where he created and directed the Project on Affordable Housing and Community Development. Alexander is the co-founder of the Center for Community Progress, America’s leading nonprofit in turning “Vacant Spaces into Vibrant Places."
Alexander’s work has focused on homelessness and affordable housing, serving as a Fellow of the Carter Center of Emory University, and as a Commissioner of the State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless. He served as Interim Dean of Emory University School of Law, as Visiting Fellow at the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, and testified before Congress concerning the 2008 mortgage foreclosure crisis.
In his talk, Alexander will discuss the role of civic engagement as a key prerequisite in systemic reforms, in line with the Lister Hill Center's 2023 mission to focus on bridging the gap between research and policy. Registration required - lunch will be provided.
