Superheroes and Risk-taking Behavior in Young Children
Tuesday, March 21, 2023 7pm to 8pm
About this Event
There are many risk factors for child injuries, and exposure to superhero media may be one of them. Join us for I Believe there is a Hero in All of Us: Superheroes and Risk-taking Behavior in Young Children as we explore how the superhero culture can affect our children.
Children sometimes identify closely with superhero characters. They may even idolize them. Dr. David Schwebel and Casie Morgan will take a look at how short-term, acute exposure and long-term exposure to superheroes in television, movies, and just general life over a lifetime can impact a child's risk-taking behavior.
Injuries kill more children than anything else, which has created a major health challenge. Through this webinar, discover prevention strategies and future research directions on this topic, and how to keep your kids safe.
