Suicide Awareness & Prevention

In honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Melissa Evans, LICSW, lead social worker on the Suicide Prevention Team at the Birmingham VA, will discuss the scope of the suicide problem among veterans as well as myths and misinformation about suicide, signs and symptoms of suicidal thinking, ways to identify those at risk of suicide and how to ask questions about suicide in an objective and non-threatening way.

UAB Employee Assistance & Counseling Center programs are open to all UAB, UAB Medicine, VIVA Health and Homewood City School System employees.
