About this Event
Hosted in partnership with UAB Staff Council and UAB Learning & Development, Taking Charge of Your Career will be facilitated by the Staff Council Chair (Lauren Humphreys) and Chair-Elect (Macy Moon). Participants will explore strategies for effective networking, mentorship, and leveraging connections to open new opportunities through a Q&A panel with leadership representatives. Panelists include:

Lotoya Beard (Executive Director, Hospital Maintenance)
Scott Austin (Senior Faculty Affairs Advisor, Heersink School of Medicine)
Amanda Carmichael (Director of Wellness & Administration, Heersink School of Medicine)
Learning Outcomes
1) Recognize the importance of personal ownership in driving career growth and advancement.
2) Identify strengths, values, and aspirations that shape career direction.
3) Evaluate potential barriers and opportunities that influence career progression.
