This event is part of our Earth Month festivities. Earth Day – held annually on April 22 – is a day centered around learning how to appreciate, care for, and preserve our planet for generations to come. We think one day a year isn’t nearly enough time to celebrate all that the Earth has to offer and learn how we can contribute to its care. Earth Month dedicates the entire month of April to these concepts.

Interested in environmental education, conservation, renewable energy, and sustainability? The UAB Solar House – a solar-powered home with its own remote microgrid – was initially designed by UAB students for the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2017 National Solar Decathlon. Now it serves as the center of community education for UAB Sustainability, offering free tours, free event/meeting space for anyone in the UAB community, volunteer opportunities, frequent events throughout the year, and more!
