The IHR is hosting a Social Justice Café to commemorate January as the National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month and bring awareness to this ongoing issue.

This event will include the expertise from Dr. Robert Blanton from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, who will explore the issue of human trafficking, paying special attention to what's happening in our own backyard. It will also feature Dannelle Paz from Trafficking Hope, a local Nonprofit Organization dedicated to spreading awareness about the issue, as well as empower survivors by providing tools and resources for those who are victims of trafficking.

This event will be moderated by Marie Wilson from the School of Public Health ODEI office in an attempt to raise awareness and educate attendees on how to stay safe if they ever encounter such a situation.
