Social Justice Cafe: Juvenile Justice and Children's Rights
About this Event
Join us for our first Social Justice Café of the spring semester on juvenile justice and children's rights. Dr. Stacy Moak, IHR Faculty Associate and Professor of Political Science, will lead a discussion of the recent incident of gun violence in Newport News, VA, where a first grader shot his teacher. Learn about the current laws and policies around juvenile justice in the U.S., how these norms intersect with children's rights, and what this case could mean for children in the criminal justice system.
