About this Event
Join us as we explore the history of convict leasing and prison labor in Alabama and across the United States. Dr. Victoria Westmont, Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, along with Barry McNealy of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI), and Tyler Malugani from Sloss Furnances will lead the conversation and provide their expertise on this subject.
This event is in partnership with the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI), and is part of their larger Black History Month programming.
