About this Event
1400 University Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35233
https://uab.campuslabs.com/engage/event/9985095A protest in partnership with other public universities across the State of Alabama in unified opposition to AL Senate Bill 129; a bill that would "prohibit certain public entities, including state agencies, local boards of education, and public institutions of higher education, from maintaining a diversity, equity, and inclusion office or department or sponsoring any diversity, equity, and inclusion program or program that advocates for a divisive concept." Not only does this bill aim to gut DEI administrative funding, but it also seeks to prohibit public university officials from sponsoring or advocating for they deem to be "divisive concepts." This bill harms the safe spaces and the many student organizations that call UAB home.
