Ronald McDonald House Collection Drive

This is a past event.

The Graduate School will once again give back to families who truly need support with its second annual Ronald McDonald House Collection Drive. The Ronald McDonald House provides a supportive “home-away-from-home” for families and their children who are receiving medical treatment at Children’s of Alabama, UAB or other area hospitals. The House provides guest families will all the comforts of home – plus, a local support network – so they can focus on their children’s healing. The Graduate School will be collecting the following items during the month of January:

• Paper plates
• Crock-pots
• Pots and pans
• Toasters
• Can opener
• Hand or stand mixers
• Box fans
• 9 volt and AA batteries
• Dish sponges
• Laundry detergent
• Dryer sheets
• 55-gallon garbage bags
• Clorox disinfecting wipes
• Small juice boxes
• Individually-wrapped snacks
• Toys for children of all ages (or gift cards for parents)

Because of the health concerns of the families, the House can only accept new, unexpired items. It cannot accept stuffed animals or any items that are religious in nature. Items can be brought to the Graduate School office (Lister Hill Library G03), and there will be collection boxes around campus. For more information, contact Kim Eaton at
