This workshop explores how to navigate the financial responsibilities that come with NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) opportunities. Learn the fundamentals of budgeting, taxes, contracts, and business structures so you can manage your money, protect your brand, and build a foundation for long-term success—on and off the field.
We’ll cover:
- The impact of NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) on student-athletes as personal brands and entrepreneurs.
- Budgeting basics to manage earnings effectively
- Tax responsibilities and what every student-athlete should know to stay compliant
- Understanding contracts and key terms to protect your rights and avoid pitfalls.
- Business structures (LLC, sole proprietorship, etc.) and how they affect your finances
- Strategies to safeguard your brand while building long-term success —both on and off the field.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is designed for student-athletes who are currently earning or planning to earn money through NIL opportunities. It’s ideal for those interested in building and protecting their personal brand, understanding contracts, and learning the financial responsibilities that come with managing income. Student-athletes considering starting a business or forming an LLC, as well as anyone who wants to establish a strong financial foundation for life beyond sports, will benefit from attending.
