The Brown Bag: Lecture Series is hosted by the UAB African American Studies Program. The series explores and addresses the various issues related to the Black Diaspora. Each month, faculty and scholars will be invited to facilitate conversations on the diaspora and its relevance to contemporary issues.
Dr. Maddox will present on the shared ties of colonialization and racialization of Afrodescendant and indigenous peoples. He will also discusss what UAB can do to continue recognizing and communicating with Afrodescendant, indigenous, Latin American, and Latinx peoples.
