This webinar is presented by the Alabama Regional Center for Infection Prevention and Control Training and Technical Assistance. In this webinar, Dr. Alistair Thorpe will discuss health communication efforts to reduce antibiotic overuse and scope for improving their impact through research on public perceptions and preferences about antibiotics.

Dr. Thorpe received his PhD in Psychology in 2019 from the University of Essex for his work on the effect of different health communication methods at reducing clinically inappropriate antibiotic use in primary care. He then spent two and half years as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Utah, before joining the Department of Applied Health Research at University College London in November as a research fellow.
