From Schitt's Creek and Parks and Recreation to podcasts and sports, secrets of public service are hidden in your favorite shows and media. Join us on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at noon (CT) for Public Service in Pop Culture: Learning About Government and Nonprofit from Your Favorite Shows.

During this webinar, Dr. Erin Borry and Dr. Peter Jones will explore the various media from which people can learn about public administration and public service.

Not only does pop culture offer lessons about public service, it provides a snapshot of public sentiment towards government and nonprofit sectors. Additionally, our guests will delve into podcasts, reality TV, books, music, and movies that offer insight into public service.

As a public institution of higher education, UAB adheres to principles of Free Speech, Civil Discourse and Institutional Neutrality.
