The UAB Office of Research welcomes Ms. Jennifer R. Camp as Finalist for the Senior Associate Vice President for Research Operations position currently under recruitment.

Jennifer Camp is the Associate Vice President for Research Administration at The University of Alabama with responsibility for leading all sponsored activities in support of the University's research mission. Oversight includes the Research ASSIST Office (proposal development), Office of Sponsored Programs, Contract & Grant Accounting, and electronic research administration. She serves on executive search committees on behalf of the University, including the current search for Vice Provost and Chief Information Officer.

In addition to her research administration responsibilities, Jennifer is a member of the senior leadership team within the Office for Research & Economic Development, serves the University as the Federal Demonstration Partnership administrative representative, and presents at national conferences on diverse topics such as compliance with federal regulations and technology as transformation. Prior to her current position, she held leadership roles in research administration at a large R1 with more than $1 billion in annual research and development expenditures, a leading academic medical center, and Huron Consulting Group.

Jennifer obtained an MBA and a BBA in Corporate Finance from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2007, she achieved the designation of Certified Research Administrator and continues to hold this certification.

The UAB Office of Research is conducting a nationwide search for the Senior Associate VP for Research Operations.

The Senior Associate Vice President for Research Operations (SAVP RO) will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Office of Research (OoR). This role includes managing business operations, compliance, facilities, communications, finance, human resources, and procurement. Reporting to the Vice President for Research (VPR), the SAVP RO collaborates with the university’s leadership to implement UAB’s strategic research vision.
