One Small Step: A Night of Courageous Conversation

This is a past event.

Hosted by NPR’s Elise Hu, this will be an evening where we reach across the political divide to understand those with whom we disagree. Together with WBHM, NPR, and StoryCorps, explore how the small step of talking across divides – and hearing each other – helps mend the fraying fabric of our nation.

Elise and guests will present an inspirational show in three acts that will include multimedia presentations, audience interaction, music, and most importantly – courageous conversation.

Today we find ourselves at one of the most divisive moments in American history. Join us to help chart a path forward for our city, the state, and our country, and come together with you in Birmingham to recognize our shared humanity and to face down a growing culture of contempt.
