About this Event
Obesity is associated with increased risk of 13 different malignancies. Accordingly, the intersection between metabolism, obesity, and cancer is an emerging area of interest. The retreat will bring together UAB investigators interested in metabolism, diet, exercise, outcomes, disparities, basic biology, as well as novel methodologies/ technologies. The goals of this retreat are twofold:
1) Expose the UAB community to investigators with interest in this domain as a first step to building transdisciplinary teams
2) Identify barriers and opportunities for research within this domain
