Description: This introductory workshop will provide participants with basic information to help better understand and support mental health for our students and our campus. Workshop topics include information about the prevalence of mental health concerns and its impact on college students nationally as well as at UAB, recognizing students in distress, strategies for supporting students with mental health concerns, campus and community resources available for student support, setting boundaries and self-care, and strategies for promoting well-being in students. Participants will receive a 4X4” decal to display indicating to students you support mental health at UAB.

Please Note: These workshops are for UAB faculty (including adjuncts), approved graduate students who are currently teaching at UAB, and teaching staff only. These workshops are not intended for UAB graduate or undergraduate students.
