https://uab.campuslabs.com/engage/event/10068164Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. During this 8-hour training, you will learn common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, how to interact with a person in crisis, and how to connect them with help, as well as additional information about trauma, substance use, and self-care. You will receive a free electronic Mental Health First Aid training manual when you complete the self-paced online course. You will also earn a certification through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. Lunch will be provided. There is limited capacity for this course. To complete your registration for this training, all attendees must email csj16@uab.edu to join the course and set up your Mental Health First Aid online account to access the self-paced pre-work that needs to be completed before the training date.
