Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Attendees will learn common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges, how to interact with a person in crisis and connect them with help, and additional information on trauma, substance use, and self-care.

To complete your registration for this training, email Christa Cordova (ccordova@uab.edu) to set up your Mental Health First Aid online account and access online modules and materials. After reviewing a 2-hour, self-paced online course, attendees participate in an all-day Instructor-led training. There is limited capacity for this in-person training, and attendance is required to receive credit toward your UAB Mental Health Advocate Certificate.

Lunch will be provided. Please email Christa Cordova (ccordova@uab.edu) with any disability accommodations or dietary restrictions for this event.
