MCHSA Seminar: "Exploring Current Research in Local & Global MCH”
About this Event
This Maternal & Child Health Student Association (MCHSA) seminar features Joycelina Imafidon, DrPH(c), presenting "Maternal Mental Health of African Women in the U.S."; Anastasia Smith, DrPH, presenting "Folic Acid Fortification to Prevent Spina Bifida"; and Aduke Toluhi, DrPH, MD presenting "Maternity Care Experiences in the U.S. South". After a brief presentation of their research, each presenter will share insights into their doctoral journey (why they decided on the program they chose, what the application process was like, balancing the demands of a doctoral program with the demands of their personal lives, how they chose their research topic(s), and advice they’d pass along to their “younger self” or to those attending the seminar considering doctoral studies in the future.
