https://libcal.library.uab.edu/event/8958705Attend this session to complete the required training for the UAB Libraries filament-based 3D printers. This session will introduce:
- Basic safety in the UAB Libraries 3D printing labs.
- Parts of a filament-based desktop 3D printer.
- Common file types used in 3D printing.
- Common tyles of filament used in 3D printing.
- The workflow for 3D printing
- The 3DPrinterOS web-based layout and slicing software used to manage UAB Libraries 3D printers.
- Model evaluation and layout for 3D printing including, overhang, bed adhesion, support material and infill settings
No previous experience with 3D printing is required and no additional software is needed to begin 3D Printing during this session. Laptops will not be provided at this session. Attendees are welcome to bring their own laptops or mobile devices to the training.
