Latinx Access to Health Care in Alabama

This is a past event.

This panel discusses the largest minority group in the United States, “Latinxs.”

John Maddox, Associate Professor of Spanish and African American Studies, will discuss what this new term reveals about identity in the United States and Latin America. He will relate it to the realities of the Birmingham community.

Jean Hernández will speak about this population from her experience as a Latinx in Alabama and the director of AIDS Alabama, which serves many Latinxs in Central Alabama.

Questions are welcome on how to use this information to be more ethical and effective healthcare providers.
