Gurney Derby

UAB’s most unique tradition! Dress up in your best costume and race a gurney down the road.

Teams of four (two men and two women) race down and back on a stretch of 13th Street South while pushing a "passenger" on old hospital gurneys. Awards are handed out to the 1st and 2nd place teams, best-dressed gurney, most creative "passenger," and the "Dead Last Award."

Note: Due to construction, this year's Gurney Derby will take place on 10th Avenue South, between the Alys Stephens Center and the Education & Engineering Complex

Wednesday, October 5 at 12:00pm

10th Ave South between EEC and ASC
