History of Birmingham

This is a past event.

Join us as History instructor Pam King presents the history of Birmingham, from the city's founding through the civil rights era and up to recent history. We will explore the effects of racist policies both past and present.

Due to technology restrictions we will pre-record this lecture with a class, but we are taking question submissions ahead of time! Please send your questions to lhc@uab.edu by September 4.

This was fabulous! I did not grow up in Alabama, so I love finding out about the history of my state. I hope there will be more! Thank you!
