About this Event
Strategies to Help People Living with Dementia and Their Care Partners Enjoy the Holidays
Join UAB School of Nursing Professor Rita A. Jablonski to learn strategies for minimizing anxious and wandering behaviors during holiday activities, ways to adapt holiday traditions to make them dementia-friendly, and communication approaches that prevent care-refusal behavior. Participants will also develop “scripts” for two common sources of caregiver aggravation — preparing out-of-town visitors and handling criticisms from friends and family members.
Virtual resource fair with community eldercare providers follows the event.
EACC programs are free and open to employees and members of their immediate household.
