Mourning a loved one is never easy, but it is especially difficult during the holidays. Learn tips and strategies of how to cope during Grief & The Holidays.
Grief can make your feelings seem out of control, so it can be necessary to figure out ways to cope during a season that is typically filled with joy. Learn create new traditions while honoring old traditions and memories with Robert Smith, Executive Director of The Amelia Center.
Robert is responsible for short and long-range planning and management of The Amelia Center while also counseling families and individuals. Robert graduated from the UAB College of Arts and Sciences with a BS in Psychology in 1995 and earned his MA in Community Agency Counseling from the UAB School of Education in 2000.
The Amelia Center was created as a place of hope for grieving families. The center provides counseling for children who have lost a loved one and parents grieving the death of a child.
