Global Awareness-CTL: Please Talk! Promoting Class Participation

Presented for UAB faculty by Melissa Hawkins. International students from certain educational backgrounds are naturally reticent to speak out in class, simply due to cultural differences. Review ideas you can use to help students understand why our educational culture values classroom discussion and how to participate effectively and appropriately. Learn ways to spur on involvement spontaneously during class.

Registration is required for in-person CTL events. You are always welcome to show up to CTL events without registering, but we ask that if food is being served at an in-person event, you wait until all pre-registered attendees have been served before serving yourself.
