 ences in educational systems around the world\, many of our international 
 students enter a very different context when they arrive at UAB. In this w
 orkshop\, learn about several of these significant differences\, and explo
 re how you can empower your students to be successful by communicating exp
 licitly about expectations for your course\, many of which we sometimes as
 sume that students already know.\n\nPlease note: The UAB Center for Teachi
 ng and Learning (CTL) presents workshops on teaching practice for UAB facu
 lty (including adjunct instructors)\, pre-approved graduate students who a
 re currently under contract to teach academic courses at UAB\, and teachin
 g staff. Academic advisors and staff who work directly with students are a
 lso approved to come to non-teaching focused workshops. CTL workshops are 
 not intended for UAB graduate or undergraduate students.
