Data visualization (or data viz) is a powerful tool for communicating information to your audience, no matter who your audience might be or what information you’re trying to convey. In this first Data Viz with the UAB Libraries workshop for Spring 2025, librarian Ashley S. McGuire will introduce you to data visualization and discuss a range of tools available for making your research pop!
Whether your research is about numbers (quantitative), words (qualitative), or a bit of both, stop in to learn a bit about choosing the right tools for your data and getting a little experience creating a variety of data visualizations, from classic charts and graphs to more sophisticated interactive visualizations. Bring a laptop (or borrow one from the library) to follow along. Each of these seminars will also end with suggestions for resources you can use to explore what we discuss on your own, which you can preview on the UAB Libraries Data Visualization Tools guide!
