Five Educational Imperatives for Justice

This is a past event.

Join us for a UAB Public Lecture by Dr. H. Rich Milner, IV, Professor of Education and Cornelius Vanderbilt Endowed Chair of Education, Department of Teaching and Learning, Vanderbilt University.

Students living below the poverty line, those whose first language is not English, those who are Black and Brown, and those who might experience outside of school challenges across the United States are too often not experiencing optimal learning opportunities in schools. Centering issues of equity, Milner discusses challenges we face in education and shares five imperatives necessary to more successfully meet the complex needs of students.
