About Our Guests

Rita Stewart-Hampton is the Director of the UAB Collat School of Business Career Center, overseeing daily operations. The center offers business students innovative programs and resources for career development. Rita joined UAB in June 2010 as the Associate Director of Employer Development, initiating enduring programs like Suit Up Collat and Employer Chats. Before UAB, she held leadership roles at Kellogg Sales Company, managing a team in the Southeast. With a 30-year career in industry and higher education, Rita is passionate about career progression for students and employees. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Jacksonville State University and an MBA from the University of North Alabama.

Tristan Buie is a dedicated student success professional with experience in academic advising, career development, and student engagement. As Assistant Director of Student Engagement at the UAB Collat School of Business Career Center, he offers strategic guidance to business students and alumni. With a Master’s in Business Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising, Tristan combines business acumen with a passion for student development. His expertise spans career coaching, program coordination, and leveraging technology to enhance career education. Tristan is also a committed leader within the university, serving in key roles on staff councils and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
