Faculty Well-Being: Stress Management

Presented in the UAB Center for Teaching and Learning for UAB faculty by Karen Coats.
What do we do about daily stress in our lives? How do we cope and prevent it from happening? In this one-hour seminar, participants will explore the causes, sources, and effects of acute and chronic stress. Participants will also learn the importance of managing daily stressors and develop a stress management personal action plan.
Objectives:
- Define stress
- Discuss stress effects on our body
- Discuss strategies for managing stress
- Provide tips to prevent stress
- Develop a personal action plan

Please note: The UAB Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) presents workshops on teaching practice for UAB faculty (including adjunct instructors), pre-approved graduate students who are currently under contract to teach academic courses at UAB, and teaching staff. Academic advisors and staff who work directly with students are also approved to come to non-teaching focused workshops. CTL workshops are not intended for UAB graduate or undergraduate students.
